The presentation of WP6 paper entitled “Assessment of the vulnerability to erosion for the Svalbard coastal region” was delivered by Duje Veic during the International Maritime Science Conference held in Solin.

The findings of WP6 were presented to the scientific community at the Fifth International Conference on Remote Sensing and Geoinformation of Environment. The event was held 20-23.03.2017 in Cyprus. The paper on “Assessment of the vulnerability to erosion of the Arctic Coasts” was presented by Wojciech Sulisz.

During the International Conference on Engineering and Natural Science (ICENS2017), which was held 19-21.01.2017 in Indonesia, the paper “A third-order model to determine wave field in a wave flume” was presented by Wojciech Sulisz.

WP4 research has been delivered to the wider audience during the Fifth International Conference on Engineering Optimization – Iguassu Falls, Brazil, 19-23 June 2016. The paper “An efficient approach for optimization of physical modeling of wave-induced phenomena” was presented by Wojciech Sulisz. The conference proceedings may be downloaded from:

Some recent results regarding Spitsbergen field campaigns were presented by Dawid Majewski during the 6th IAHR International Junior Researcher and Engineer Workshop on Hydraulic Structures 2016. The findings of the ARCOASTS project were presented by Maciej Paprota during the 12th International Conference on Hydrodynamics 2016. The paper title is: “Wave-induced temperature profile evolution of a frozen sand bottom and its effect on erosion”. The conference proceedings are available at:

During the International Short Course and Conference on Applied Coastal Research 7th SCACR a paper ‘Effects of climate changes on coastal erosion in Svalbard’ was presented by Dr Maciej Paprota. The conference was held in Florence between 28.09.2015 and 1.10.2015.

Prof. Wojciech Sulisz presented a paper ‘A new approach for the prediction of coastal erosion in Arctic areas’ during the 9th Symposium on River, Coastal and Estuarine Morphodynamics, RCEM 2015 held in Iquitos City, from August 30 to September 3, 2015.

A planar lecture entitled: ‘Application of a new approach for modeling of coastal erosion in Arctic areas’ was presented by Dr Maciej Paprota at 2^nd International Workshop on Hydraulic Structures: Data Validation. The workshop was held in Coimbra, Portugal on 8-9.05.2015.

We are pleased to inform you that ARCOASTS project funded by the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme operated by the National Centre for Research and Development under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 in the frame of Project Contract No. POL-NOR/200336/95/2014 was launched on 1.05.2014.
