abstractsThe purpose of the paper is to indicate an efficient method of analysis foundation settlement taking into account the variability of soil properties. The impact of the random variable distribution (Gauss or Lognormal) describing soil stiffness on foundation deposits was assessed. The Monte Carlo simulation method was applied in the computations. The settlements of the strip foundation with the subsoil described by a single random variable and a random field were compared.
