W czerwcu 2011 r. w rejonie Lubiatowa rozpoczęto pomiary falowania przy pomocy boi falowej Directional Waverider Mk. III zakotwiczonej w odległości ok. 2 km od brzegu, na głębokości 16 m. Wyniki pomiarów, w tym również temperatura powierzchni morza, są podawane na stronie internetowej MLB Lubiatowo

During field surveys planned in 2011, parameters of waves and currents, as well as changes of shoreline position, will be measured. The key part of the measurements will commence in September 2011.

Two measuring towers collapsed into the water during the recent storm (end of December 2010). Remnants of the second tower are still visible in the sea, while the first one disappeared almost totally. The detailed inspection and protection of the infrastructure is planned in the spring 2011.

Further investigations will be carried out by use of autonomous measuring devices.

W ramach finansowanego przez Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego projektu badawczego pt. "Zmienność procesów hydrodynamicznych i litodynamicznych w strefie brzegowej wschodniej części Zatoki Gdańskiej" (decyzja/umowa nr 2805/B/P01/2008/35, nr projektu N N306 280535), realizowanego przez IBW PAN w okresie od 24.09.2008 r. do 23.09.2010 r., w porozumieniu z Urzędem Morskim w Gdyni prowadzone były pomiary falowania w strefie brzegowej Zatoki Gdańskiej z zastosowaniem boi falowej Directional Waverider, produkcji holenderskiej firmy DATAWELL B.V.
