In June 2024, we completed a measuring tower at the depth of about 5 m,
some 250 m from the shoreline. The tower is energetically autonomous.
The measured data are transmitted by radio and the devices are
controlled by radio as well. There is a meteorological station and a
camera installed on the tower. Soon, we will equip the tower with a
water level and wave sensor. The camera view and results of the
measurements will be available on the CRS Lubiatowo web page.

The camera has been moved 12 m landwards because of progressing erosion of the sea shore.

In November 2022, measurements of waves and currents near Lubiatowo were commenced by use of a new wave-current DWR4 buoy, moored about 2.7 km offshore, at the depth of about 18 m. Results of the measurements, including the sea surface temperature, are available on the CRS Lubiatowo web page:

We have received questions on the change of the camera location and the view. After the shore erosion caused by the extreme storm of December 6th 2013 the camera mast was about 1.5 m from the dune crest. We had to move it to the safer position from which the alongshore view was limited. Therefore, the camera looks in the cross-shore direction now.

On 19 February, the wave buoy was withdrawn from the sea for replacement of batteries and conservation. Until next deployment, the parameters measured by the buoy, namely the water temperature, wave height, period and direction, will be unavailable on the website.

After a short technical break, wave measurements near Lubiatowo are continued. Like before, they are carried out by use of the Directional Waverider DWR-7 Mk. III buoy, this time moored about 2.5 km offshore, at the depth of 18 m.
