REGIONAL MARINE MONITORING and TECHNOLOGY STATE-OF-THE-ART ASSESMENT in POMERANIA (Poland)

Introduction

In accordance to the ASTIR sub-project work plan, major activities carried out at the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBW PAN) in Gdańsk till now have been aimed at identification of institutions and organisations involved in marine monitoring in Pomeranian region. In particular, seeking procedure concerned entities dealing with measurements in the coastal zone. Further, a review was made to find out the scope of measurements, recorded parameters, measuring technologies and methods, as well as time and spatial domains of surveys carried out by the individual institutions.
