Advisory Board Meeting (AB-1)

The first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Environmental Engineering and Mechanics was held on the 18th of January 2003 in Gdańsk.

CEM invited the following persons to become members of Advisory Board (AB):

• Halina Burakowska M Eng, Director of Gdańsk Board for Water Resources Management
• Prof. Magnus Larson, Department of Water Resources Engineering Lund University
• Prof. Bolesław Mazurkiewicz, Gdańsk University of Technology Faculty of Hydro and Environmental Engineering
• Prof. Bernard Molin, Departement Hydrodynamique Centre Mecanique et Energetique, Ecole Superieure d'Ingenieurs de Marseille
• Prof. Zygmunt Meyer, Technical University of Szczecin, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Department of Geotechnical Engineering
• Prof. Jürgen Sündermann, University of Hamburg, Institute of Oceanography Centre for Marine and Climate Research
• Prof. Huib de Vriend, Director for Science and Technology, wl|delft hydraulics

All members of Advisory Board accepted invitation and were present at the meeting.

Executive Committee of CEM is composed of the following persons, employed of IBW PAN:

• Prof. Zbigniew Pruszak
• Dr Małgorzata Robakiewicz
• Prof. Andrzej Sawicki
• Doc. Wojciech Sulisz
• Prof. Henryk Zaradny

All members of Executive Committee (EC) were present.

Meeting was organized in the premises of IBW PAN in Gdańsk.

Program of the meeting covered the following actions:

• presentation of all members of AB and EC;
• election of the chairman of AB - prof. H. de Vriend became the chairmen of AB;
• presentation of IBW PAN based on which CEM was created;
• general presentation of goals and proposed activities of CEM;
• proposed activities for the first year (December 2002 - November 2003);
• discussion on proposed activities of CEM, with emphasis on the year 1.
